Why I Became a Therapist

“I’ve always been drawn to helping people and being someone they can count on. Seeing others start to understand and believe in themselves is one of the most inspiring parts of what I do.”

History

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fort Hays State University in May 2024. During my training, I completed a five-month practicum at a community mental health center in Manhattan, Kansas, in the spring of 2023. I then continued to expand my experience through clinical internships with a private group practice that served the Overland Park, Lee’s Summit, and Leavenworth areas from the summer of 2023 through the summer of 2024.
After obtaining my License as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Kansas, I transitioned from intern to full-time clinician within that group practice. I am now proud to continue my work as an individual LPC at my own practice, Anchored Roots Counseling (ARC), where I am dedicated to supporting clients on their journey toward growth and healing.
